PSHE Subject Leader Network Meetings 2021/22
Oct 20 @ 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

The University of Worcester will be leading new termly network meetings for subject leaders of PSHE

Session 1 (20 October) Leading and Co ordinating PSHE

This session will look at the role of the PSHE coordinator and responsibilities attached to the role.  We will look a the assessment and monitoring requirements to ensure excellent coverage and progression of PSHE within your setting.

Session 2 (8 February) FGM

This session will explore the ways in which consent and FGM are covered within the primary and secondary curriculum.

Session 3 (14 June) Relationships and Sex Education

This session will focus of RSE within schools and the ways in which it can be delivered and assessed effectively.

SENDi Subject Leader Network Meetings 2021/22

The University of Worcester will be leading new termly network meetings for subject leaders of SENDi

Session 1 (21 October) Pupil voice and Inclusion

This session will explore strategies to develop pupil voice within your setting.  We will be evaluating strategies and resources for a range of age and settings.

Session 2 (10 February) Supporting Pupils with Autism

This session will look at the ways in which pupils with autism can be supported within a variety of settings.  We will explore the considerations of practice and policy to ensure effective teaching and learning.

Session 3 (16 June) Parents/carers and honest conversations

Working collaboratively with parents/carers of pupils with SEND needs can be complex.  This session will look at research informed strategies to develop positive relationship allowing honest conversations which are supportive for all.

Manual Handing Training
Nov 2 @ 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

This is aimed at staff who have to move heavy, or awkward loads within their job role on a regular basis providing them with the best idea of how to do this safely for themselves and keeping others safe in the workplace.

This workshop aims to:

  • Understand the definition of Manual Handling and laws that apply to the workplace
  • Identify types of injury and ways to reduce the risk of injury
  • Identify key features of a risk assessment and follow the 4 steps of the assessment strategy
  • Understand the principles of safer handling
  • Includes practical assessment

The latest updates regarding your role in subject leadership: these will include up to the minute OFSTED messages; national updates related to your subject leader role and exploration of data.

An opportunity to stay up to date by exploring key areas of teaching and learning, particular curriculum areas, or latest pedagogies, led by experts.

A change to network with other subject leaders, share experiences and ‘magpie’!
