Early Career Teacher Induction
Registering your ECT
Prince Henry’s Teaching School Hub is working in partnership with Ambition Institute to provide their Early Career Teacher Programme to ECTs across Herefordshire, Worcester, Wychavon, Wyre Forest and Malvern.
To register your ECTs with us for Ambition Institute’s ECT programme and/or to register with us for Appropriate Body Services, please use the step-by-step guide below. If you have any questions relating to ECT registration, please contact us on tsh@princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk
Please note that formal induction cannot begin until all relevant registration steps are complete and the ECT is registered with a Appropriate Body.
All schools will receive an invite to set up their ECTE for the 2025/26 academic year and register ECTs and/or mentors during w/c 30th June 2025.
How do I register my ECT(s)?
- Identify the subject/class mentor for the ECT
- Identify the Induction Tutor for the ECT (see our Induction Tutor page for further guidance)
- Complete the Teaching School Hub registration form so that initial numbers can be sent to the Lead Provider (Ambition Institute)
- Register your school and your ECT on the DfE Digital Service here. Please follow instructions on the DfE page if you do not already have access to this service.
- Register the Induction Tutor as the point of contact for the Early Career Framework.
- Choose the ECF programme you wish to follow. There are three options: 1) Full Induction Programme; 2) Core Induction Programme; 3) School-Based (DIY) Programme. For more information on the available options please visit our ECF page.
- Nominate your Appropriate Body
If you are using Prince Henry’s Teaching School Hub for Appropriate Body services, you will need to register your school and/or ECT in ECT Manager for the formal induction process to begin.
- If you are new to us or to ECT Manager and do not have a login, please email us on tsh@princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk
- If you have lost your ECT Manager login data please email us on tsh@princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk
ECT Manager is the platform used to:
- Register ECTS with the Teacher Regulation Agency (TRA)
- Distribute, complete and collect all progress reviews and formal assessments
- Verify that ECTs receive their full entitlement (as set out in the statutory guidance)
- Following registration in the DfE digital service, data will automatically transfer to Ambition Institute.
- A welcome email will be sent to colleagues once this process has been completed (if you do not receive this, please check junk items folders and add Ambition Institute to your contacts).
- ECTs and Mentors need to follow the instructions to complete the Onboarding process. They will need their TRN number for this.
- Once this process is completed colleagues will have access to Steplab and the ECF programme.
- The conference dates, venues and twilight clinics will also be found here.
