Early Headship Leadership Community
This programme for newly or recently appointed Headteachers is offered by University of Worcester, in partnership with Prince Henry’s Teaching School Hub.
This funded programme offers a safe, supportive environment to explore your leadership journey alongside experienced facilitators. You will have the opportunity to think in new ways, reflect deeply and energise your sense of purpose.
- 4 x 3 hour Collaborative Leadership Meets – facilitated face-to-face.
- Access to research, leadership tools and strategies.
- Optional Group Coaching Circles (online).
- Optional reciprocal visits to schools/settings involved.
- Participate in carefully structured activities focused on enhancing learning and leadership repertoire.
- Connect with and have honest conversations with school leaders at a similar stage in their leadership journey.
- Reflect individually and collectively to group leadership capability and individual potential.
- Receive encouragement and support to help keep the purpose and passion alive through the complexity of the journey.
- Programme led by expert, knowledgeable facilitators who are neutral and impartial.
- Programme facilitators are trained, experienced leadership coaches.
- Extensive and successful knowledge of helping leaders at all stages of their leadership journey.
- Focused on nourishing, motivating and supporting leaders.
To be eligible for this funded leadership support you must be:
- Within your first five years of headship.
- In a state funded school in Herefordshire or Worcestershire.
Cohort 3 – Autumn 2025
The first meeting of Cohort 2 will take place on 15th October 2024 (9am – 12pm) at St John’s Campus, Worcester.
Further cohort dates will be confirmed following the first meeting.

I have found the sessions extremely useful and, in a busy and sometimes lonely role in school, it has allowed me time to feel supported yet equally challenged.
